McDonald’s has appointed Mustafa Husain as Senior Vice President and U.S. Chief Information Officer. He succeeds Valerie Ashbaugh, who will leave the company at the end of April. Husain steps into the role after five years with the company, where he has held senior engineering leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Restaurant Technology Engineering, overseeing development work tied to McDonald’s global restaurant platform. In his new position, Husain will lead the U.S. technology organization, taking on responsibility for ongoing systems, platform development, and related technology functions.
Peter Scavuzzo – Senior Vice President, Chief Information and Technology Officer at CBIZ

Peter Scavuzzo will take on the expanded role of Senior Vice President, Chief Information and Technology Officer at CBIZ while continuing to serve as President of CBIZ Technology, following the retirement of longtime CIO John Fleischer. In the role, Scavuzzo will oversee the company’s unified technology organization, bringing together enterprise IT, client-facing technology solutions, and the Business Transformation and Innovation team to align technology, data, and AI initiatives with business strategy and client needs. He joined CBIZ through its acquisition of Marcum LLP, where he served as Chief Information & Digital Officer and CEO of Marcum Technology, leading digital innovation efforts and technology-driven growth initiatives.
Elizabeth Smalley – Chief AI Officer at Marigold

Elizabeth Smalley has been appointed Chief AI Officer at Marigold, where she will lead the company’s global AI and data strategy across both its product portfolio and internal operations, with a focus on integrating AI capabilities into marketing and customer engagement tools. Smalley most recently served as Chief Product Officer at Marigold, overseeing global product strategy and innovation. Earlier in her career, she led the development of FDA-approved AI tools at Teladoc Health and worked on data initiatives in the life sciences sector at ArisGlobal.
Jay Spears – Chief Information Officer at Topgolf

Jay Spears has joined Topgolf as Chief Information Officer, where he will oversee the company’s IT organization and Toptracer technology platform. Spears most recently spent six years at CEC Entertainment, parent company of Chuck E. Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza, working alongside current Topgolf CEO David McKillips. His earlier technology leadership experience includes roles at Six Flags and Urban Air Adventure Parks.
Mike Van Houten – Chief Digital and IT Officer at Nestlé USA

Mike Van Houten has been appointed Chief Digital and IT Officer at Nestlé USA, where he will lead the company’s digital and information technology organization as it advances enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives and data-driven operations. He most recently served as Vice President, Commercial Excellence at Nestlé USA, following earlier leadership roles in consumer insights, strategic revenue management, and category and shopper solutions.
Sameer Gupta – Chief Data and AI Officer at Lloyds Banking Group

Lloyds Banking Group has named Sameer Gupta as Chief Data and AI Officer, tasking him with leading the next phase of the bank’s AI strategy as it expands the use of artificial intelligence across customer experience, fraud prevention, and internal operations. Gupta joins from DBS Bank in Singapore, where he served as Chief Analytics Officer and helped scale enterprise-wide AI initiatives focused on decision-making, productivity, and digital banking capabilities.
Mike Rinehart – Chief Information Officer at Morgan Lewis

Morgan Lewis has appointed Mike Rinehart as Chief Information Officer, where he will oversee the firm’s global IT function with a focus on secure, scalable technology systems and cybersecurity capabilities that support client service and legal operations. Rinehart joins from Dechert, where he served as CIO leading the firm’s technology strategy, and previously spent a decade as CIO at Fox Rothschild.
Kannan Alagappan – Chief Information Officer at Consumer Cellular

Consumer Cellular has added Kannan Alagappan as Chief Information Officer, where he will oversee the company’s technology strategy and platform modernization efforts. Alagappan brings more than 30 years of telecommunications and technology leadership experience, including recent roles as CTO at Circles, where he helped build and scale an AI-native SaaS telecom platform, and CTO at Dish Network, where he led technology modernization initiatives. His background includes developing and managing telecom networks and platforms serving large global customer bases.
Naveen Baweja – Chief Technology Officer at Alight

Alight has appointed Naveen Baweja as Chief Technology Officer, effective April 29, where he will lead the company’s technology organization and help advance its investments in AI, data, and digital innovation across its benefits administration platform. Baweja joins from The Walt Disney Company, where he led technology, engineering, data, and AI initiatives for Disney Consumer Products, following earlier technology leadership roles supporting Disney Parks & Resorts, CNA Insurance, and McKinsey & Company.
Yunyan Wang – Chief Technology Officer at Chewy

Chewy has appointed former Amazon executive Yunyan Wang as Chief Technology Officer, adding an experienced technology and supply chain leader to the company. Wang spent nearly 13 years at Amazon, most recently serving as Vice President of Commerce & Supply Chain Services, where she worked on fulfillment and logistics products for third-party merchants, including Prime Fulfillment and Multi-Channel Fulfillment. She also served as Technical Advisor to former Worldwide Consumer CEO Jeff Wilke and previously led Amazon Marketplace seller growth in North America. As Chief Technology Officer, Wang will oversee Chewy’s technology organization along with product and infrastructure initiatives.
Chris Given – Chief Information Officer and Director of the California Department of Technology at the State of California

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has appointed Chris Given as the state’s Chief Information Officer and director of the California Department of Technology, placing the former federal technology official in charge of the state’s digital and IT strategy. Given most recently served as deputy secretary for technology and innovation at the California Government Operations Agency and previously led the IRS Direct File program, following technology and digital services roles across multiple federal agencies including the Department of Veterans Affairs, CMS, and the Social Security Administration.
Spike Lipkin – Chief AI Officer at WTW

WTW has named Spike Lipkin Chief AI Officer, tasking the Newfront co-founder and former CEO with leading the company’s enterprise AI strategy and adoption efforts. Reporting directly to CEO Carl Hess, Lipkin will help guide how AI is integrated into WTW’s operating model, long-term strategy, and business operations following the company’s acquisition of Newfront earlier this year. He previously led the development of Newfront’s AI-powered broking platform and played a central role in the integration of the business into WTW.
Jacquelyn Malcolm Bailey – Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Drexel University

Drexel University has brought on Dr. Jacquelyn Malcolm Bailey as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. In the role, she will lead the university’s enterprise IT strategy and operations in support of academic, research, and institutional priorities. Bailey joins from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, where she served as Vice Chancellor of Information Technology Services and CIO, overseeing technology strategy across 33 institutions and 54 campuses and leading major modernization initiatives including a systemwide Workday deployment and cybersecurity framework implementation.
Chris Tyrell – Chief Information Officer at Cross Country Healthcare

Cross Country Healthcare has appointed Chris Tyrell as Chief Information Officer, tasking him with leading the company’s enterprise technology organization as it expands its AI, automation, and platform initiatives. Tyrell will oversee infrastructure, systems modernization, cybersecurity, platform integration, and digital transformation efforts across the business. Jim Maza – Chief Information Officer at BDO USA

BDO USA has named Jim Maza as its next Chief Information Officer, succeeding Russ Ahlers, who will retire in September after more than a decade leading the firm’s technology organization. Maza will oversee BDO’s enterprise technology strategy and modernization efforts as the firm continues to expand its focus on innovation, operational efficiency, and digital transformation. He most recently served as CIO of an insurance brokerage and risk management firm, where he led a 250-person IT organization and large-scale transformation initiatives.
Jonathan Porat – Chief Technology Officer at Code for America

Code for America has added Jonathan Porat as Chief Technology Officer, where he will lead the civic tech nonprofit’s technology strategy, infrastructure, security, and responsible AI initiatives. Porat joins from the State of California, where he served as Chief Technology Officer overseeing the Office of Technology Services and Office of Digital Services, helping advance statewide digital modernization and public sector technology operations. Earlier in his career, he held technology leadership roles with the City of Seattle, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Office of Management and Budget.
Ryan Gorney – Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at First Commonwealth Financial Corporation

First Commonwealth Financial Corporation has appointed Ryan Gorney as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, where he will oversee the bank’s information technology, digital strategy, operations, and enterprise transformation efforts as part of the executive leadership team. Darren Coleman – Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer at Envision Pharma Group

In his role, Ranade is responsible for shaping Intel’s overarching technology direction and advancing key innovation initiatives. He will also retain his position as chief of staff to CEO Lip-Bu Tan, a dual responsibility intended to keep the company’s technical vision closely aligned with its operational and commercial priorities. Ranade reports directly to Tan. Lance Jenkinson has joined the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General as Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Management and Administration and Chief Information Officer, overseeing IT strategy, cybersecurity, and enterprise operations supporting the agency’s audits, investigations, and healthcare inspection functions. He also advises the Inspector General on data governance and enterprise architecture matters. Jenkinson previously held senior IT modernization and transformation roles within the Department of Defense environment, leading enterprise technology strategy and cloud adoption initiatives.
