Startup teaches AI to read emotions

Hume AI has raised over $12 million in funding.
TNCR Staff

Hume AI, a startup research lab and technology company that aims to ensure that artificial intelligence is built to serve human goals and emotional well-being, has raised $12.7 million in funding. The company will use the funds to develop solutions that understand human reactions, not only the world’s information as most other AI is focused on.

Why it matters: While other AI startups are focused on mirroring the critical thinking of humans, Hume AI is working towards developing systems that detect human emotions. From delight to frustration, this tool will help automated systems to read all emotions.

  • The AI will translate insights into new ways to improve human emotional experience.
  • Funding will allow Hume to increase its team to expand into more industries.
