Accenture (NYSE:ACN) reported third quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $18.7 billion, up 6% in U.S. dollars and 3% in local currency. The company said operating margin rose 20 basis points to 17%, diluted earnings per share grew 9% to $3.80, and free cash flow reached $3.6 billion.
New bookings were $19.3 billion, with consulting bookings at $10.3 billion and managed services bookings at $9.1 billion.
Technology remained central to management’s remarks, with heavy focus on AI adoption, cybersecurity, data, cloud, managed services, and platform-led growth.
CEO Julie Sweet said Accenture is seeing clients with stronger digital foundations move into larger AI programs, adding that “the major theme of all of these programs is that we are moving clients from using AI to running on AI.” The company also highlighted new OT security acquisitions and AI-enabled managed services work with clients including BT Group, Bath & Body Works, Cox Communications, and Banco Bradesco.
Why It Matters: Accenture’s management described AI readiness as dependent on stronger technology foundations instead of isolated pilots. The OT security push adds relevance because Accenture framed operational environments as a required layer for future AI-enabled work.
- AI Programs Enter Production: Accenture said clients are moving into larger AI programs tied to business operations. Sweet cited AI-focused wins with BT Group and Stellantis, while another 100 clients started advanced AI projects during the quarter. She said the company is seeing more clients with mature digital foundations take on larger AI programs.
- OT Security Gains Priority: The company announced plans to acquire a majority stake in Dragos, plus all of runZero and NetRise. The company said the acquisitions will create an OT security platform that helps clients find vulnerabilities and fix them before a crisis. Sweet said, “You cannot succeed in AI unless you have got security.”
- Managed Services Add AI Capability: Managed services work is changing because clients want consulting and AI expertise included in large programs. Bath & Body Works was cited as an example of a client using a unified managed services model with agentic AI embedded throughout operations. Management said the work is intended to replace manual effort with automation and create savings for reinvestment.
- BT Group Uses AI In Network Operations: The company described work with BT Business as an AI partnership tied to network operations and service management. The program will use AIOps capabilities with autonomous agents to detect and resolve incidents. Sweet said the result will be “fewer disruptions, faster resolution, and a more resilient network.”
- Accenture Edge Targets Mid-Market Clients: Accenture said it is launching Accenture Edge for companies with $300 million to $3 billion in revenue. The business will package Accenture’s enterprise expertise into solutions designed for mid-market needs. Avanade will support the effort through Microsoft platform services, with cloud and AI expertise for those clients.
