Dave Blankenship has announced his departure as Chief Information Officer at Subway, concluding a five-and-a-half-year tenure marked by significant technology and operational advancements.

Blankenship joined Subway in August 2020 as Chief Technology Officer after a successful run at Marriott International, later stepping into the CIO role in December 2024. During his time with the company, he led key digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing the guest experience, modernizing operations, and strengthening the brand’s technology foundation across its global franchise network.
In a LinkedIn post reflecting on his time at Subway, Blankenship thanked colleagues and leadership, stating: “Together, we made real progress by elevating the guest experience, strengthening operations and moving the business forward in meaningful ways.” He also expressed gratitude to the Subway technology and executive leadership teams, describing the experience as a privilege.
With over 30 years of experience in technology leadership across the hospitality sector, Blankenship is now preparing for the next chapter in his career. No successor has been named at the time.
