Starbucks has appointed Anand Varadarajan as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He succeeds Deb Hall Lefevre, who retired in September, and will report directly to CEO Laxman Narasimhan as part of the company’s Executive Leadership Team.

Varadarajan brings nearly two decades of experience from Amazon, where he led technology and supply chain efforts for the Worldwide Grocery Stores business.
His background includes engineering leadership and systems development focused on customer needs and operational efficiency.
Earlier in his career, he held software engineering roles at Oracle and contributed to several early-stage tech companies. He is recognized for building dependable systems and supporting the teams behind them.
