The Texas A&M University System has appointed Dr. Vince Kellen as its next Chief Information Officer. With over 25 years of leadership in higher education and enterprise IT, Kellen is widely recognized for his work in AI, supercomputing, and digital transformation.
Most recently CIO at the University of California San Diego, Kellen led major initiatives in high-performance computing and data analytics. He has also held senior IT roles at the University of Kentucky and DePaul University.

“He has the experience and temperament to lead the A&M System in both foundational and transformative IT work,” said Glenn Hegar, Chancellor of The Texas A&M University System.
In his new role, Kellen will oversee IT strategy and infrastructure across the System’s 12 universities, health science center, and state agencies. His focus will include enhancing research capabilities and system-wide efficiency through technology.
“Few institutions have the reach or responsibility of the Texas A&M University System. Its universities and agencies serve the people of Texas every day through education, research, and public service,” Kellen said. “I’m excited to help strengthen that work through technology that empowers our students, faculty, staff, and communities.”
