The Walt Disney Company has appointed Karandeep Anand as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, a newly created position that places him at the center of the company’s growing technology and AI strategy.
Anand comes to Disney from Character.AI, where he served as CEO and oversaw the consumer AI platform during a period of rapid growth. His earlier experience includes leadership positions at Brex and Facebook.
In his new role, Anand will report directly to Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro and oversee enterprise technology, infrastructure, data and AI platforms, product, and engineering across the company.
Anand will also work with technology teams throughout Disney to modernize its technology capabilities. His appointment comes as Disney looks to expand the role of technology across its businesses, including streaming, consumer products, experiences, and gaming.
