Whataburger has named Rohit Kapoor as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Transformation Officer, bringing in a seasoned leader to help shape the brand’s digital future. With over 30 years of global experience in restaurant and retail tech, Kapoor has led major digital transformations focused on improving both customer and employee experiences.

Before joining Whataburger, Kapoor was EVP and CIO at Claire’s, where he modernized the entire tech landscape and boosted the company’s omnichannel capabilities. He’s also held senior roles at Starbucks and YUM! Brands, driving tech innovation across both U.S. and international markets.
“I’m honored to join Whataburger at such a pivotal moment in this iconic brand’s journey,” Kapoor said. “I look forward to partnering with the team to build future-ready capabilities that help us continue to deliver on our mission to ‘make everyone’s day a little better.’
Whataburger CEO Debbie Stroud called Kapoor “a strategic leader who knows how to use technology to drive innovation and operational excellence,” adding that his experience will be key as the brand continues to grow and evolve.
