Verizon has announced the appointment of Santiago “Yago” Tenorio as its new Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Technology Enablement. With over 25 years of experience in the wireless industry, Tenorio brings a strong background in tech and leadership to the role. He will be tasked with advancing Verizon’s 5G initiatives, building key partnerships, and shaping the future of the company’s technology.
Throughout his career, Tenorio has demonstrated a strong ability to build high-performing teams and drive technical innovation. He joins Verizon from Vodafone, where he spent over two decades overseeing crucial network technologies. His leadership helped establish Vodafone as a major player in the wireless industry, with highlights like overseeing network coverage for the 2012 London Olympics and holding key roles such as CTO for Vodafone Ireland and Chief Network Officer in the UK.
In his new role at Verizon, Tenorio will lead efforts to advance the next generation of 5G technologies and explore emerging use cases for Verizon’s network. He will also collaborate with technology partners to push the boundaries of innovation and map out Verizon’s strategy for future technologies that will enhance how customers live, work, and play.
