Two Technology Veterans Start New CIO Roles

Big leadership changes are taking effect in two well-known global companies.

Raman Bukkapatnam – Chief Information Officer at Marriott Vacations Worldwide

Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation (VAC), a leading global vacation company that offers vacation ownership, exchange, rental, and resort and property management, has announced Raman Bukkapatnam as Chief Information Officer. As CIO, Bukkapatnam will spearhead the enterprise’s global technology strategy, transformation, and modernization.

Bukkapatnam brings over 25 years of experience to the role and joins the company from Nike, where he served as Vice President, Global Technology, helping to reshape digital retail and upgrading enterprise resource planning and supply chain platforms, among other accomplishments. Before that, he served in numerous technology leadership roles over his nearly 20-year tenure at Starbucks. “This is an incredibly exciting time to join the leadership team at Marriott Vacations Worldwide and be part of the growth strategy for the future,” said Bukkapatnam. “I understand that a priority for the Company is a strong, agile technology infrastructure to power us forward as a leader in the leisure travel space. I’m happy to be part of building how digital will change what the future of vacation looks like for all of our stakeholders.”

Eric Firer – Chief Information Officer at Kellogg North America

Kellogg Company, one of the world’s leading producers of cereal and snacks, appointed Eric Firer as Chief Information Officer of Kellogg of North America. Firer joined the company on June 19th and recently announced the role on LinkedIn, saying, “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity. Thank you to those who have reached out with such a warm welcome. I truly cannot wait to see what we will achieve together.”

Firer brings over two decades of technology leadership experience having served in key roles at Deloitte & Touche, J. Crew, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., and most recently at Bacardi, where he was the Regional CIO for North America and Latin America. In this capacity, he provided end-to-end accountability for the overarching technology strategy, delivery, & operations for North America and Latin America, according to his LinkedIn. In his short tenure at Bacardi, he made significant strides. He was recognized as a 2023 Global Finalist by the South Florida ORBIE Awards for his commendable leadership, management effectiveness, and business value generated via technology innovation.
