Nordstrom has appointed Nicole Ford as its new Chief Information Security Officer, succeeding Irwan Tjan, who left in January to become CISO at cybersecurity company Gen Digital. Ford will drive Nordstrom’s security transformation and enhance cyber resilience in this role.

With over 20 years of experience and recently serving as CISO at Rockwell Automation, Ford brings strong cybersecurity leadership skills to Nordstrom. Her specialization in security governance and risk management aligns with Nordstrom’s focus on ensuring customer trust and retail growth amid rising online threats. She will be tasked with supporting the retailer’s security and governance, risk, and compliance teams.
“With Nicole’s deep understanding of how to accelerate security innovations, increase efficiencies, and ultimately drive business alignment with cyber protections, I’m confident her experience and leadership will help us capitalize on the opportunity ahead while keeping the customer at the center,” said a Nordstrom spokeswoman.
In her previous CISO role at Rockwell Automation, Ford played a crucial role in modernizing cybersecurity programs. Her contributions showcased the fusion of advanced security tools with user-friendly design, setting new benchmarks across industrial Fortune 500 sectors. Prior to Rockwell, Ford held security chief positions at manufacturer Carrier, medical products maker Baxter International, and law firm Venable.
