Marqeta Selects New Head of Cybersecurity

The company views the hire as a proactive step to protect its customers, employees, partners, and stakeholders.

Marqeta (MQ), the global modern card issuing platform, has appointed Heather Gantt-Evans as Chief Information Security Officer. She will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global corporate and product security strategies.

Gantt-Evans is a US Army Reserves veteran who brings over 15 years of industry experience and joins Marqeta from SailPoint, where she served as CISO and managed their cybersecurity strategy and execution of methods to reduce business and product risk. Before that, she directed cybersecurity initiatives with companies including The Home Depot, Ernst & Young, and Booz Allen Hamilton. Gantt-Evans earned her Masters of Technology Management and Management Information Systems. She also has a Bachelors of Applied Science and Sociology, both from Texas A&M University-Commerce
