Lyft has appointed Kevin Smith as its new Chief Information Officer, entrusted with shaping the company’s information technology vision and strategy.

Smith is a results-driven technology executive with over 30 years of experience leading IT organizations at innovative, high-growth companies. He most recently served as CIO at Cloudera where he aligned IT initiatives to business goals with a focus on customer experience to increase efficiency and growth.

“I look forward to working with my new team and our customers, bringing the value of IT and customer obsession to life,” said Smith in a recent LinkedIn announcement.

Previously, Smith held VP and CIO roles at the autonomous driving company Aurora, payments provider Stripe, and live streaming platform Twitch. At each company, he developed strategic roadmaps leveraging emerging technologies to enhance operations, analytics, and the customer experience.

Smith’s vast range of experience delivering value-driven, technology-enabled business outcomes should serve him well as he steps into the CIO role at Lyft.
