Lululemon has named Ranju Das as its first-ever Chief AI & Technology Officer, effective September 2, 2025. In this newly created executive role, Das will lead the company’s global technology organization and shape its AI and digital strategy.

Das brings over 20 years of experience across enterprise systems, AI innovation, and digital transformation. He most recently served as CEO and founder of Swan AI Studios, where he developed advanced AI platforms across multiple industries. Prior to that, Das was CEO of OptumLabs, the research and development arm of UnitedHealth Group, where he led data-driven AI initiatives in healthcare and insurance.
He also spent nearly eight years at Amazon, ultimately serving as General Manager of Amazon AI Services, and held senior engineering roles at Barnes & Noble.
This appointment coincides with the planned departure of Julie Averill, the company’s Chief Information Officer, in September. She leaves after eight years of leadership at lululemon.
“Ranju’s breadth of expertise and proven track record of leading large-scale technology and AI transformations make him the ideal individual to drive this work forward at lululemon and take our technology organization to the next level. We’re thrilled to welcome Ranju to the team.” said CEO Calvin McDonald.
