LinkedIn has appointed Lea Kissner as its new Chief Information Security Officer. Kissner, who previously served as the CISO at Twitter and held prominent roles at several major technology companies, will now lead LinkedIn’s security and privacy strategy, focusing on the protection of member and customer data.
In her LinkedIn announcement, Kissner shared, “Speaking as a heavy LinkedIn user I know that what we do here matters and I take that responsibility seriously.“
Kissner is well-regarded in the cybersecurity community, bringing over 17 years of experience in the field. She has held key roles at companies such as Google, Apple, Zoom, and Lacework, where she was instrumental in developing and implementing advanced privacy and security measures.
She expressed enthusiasm for her new role, stating, “I’m excited to join LinkedIn and build great things together – and great things are trustworthy things. My area of expertise is keeping people and data safe in all sorts of different ways, and that’s fundamentally what I’m here for: to protect our members, our customers, and my coworkers.”
