Steve Frank, a distinguished cybersecurity executive, has been named Chief Information Security Officer for both KPMG and KPMG Americas. Frank announced his appointment on LinkedIn, succeeding John Israel, who has transitioned to the role of Global AI Security and Data Security Lead at KPMG.
Frank brings an impressive background to his new role. Most recently, he served as Deputy CISO and Executive Director of the Cyber Risk Defense Center (CRDC) at Kaiser Permanente. There, he led enterprise cybersecurity operations, including incident detection and response, digital forensics, threat intelligence, and SOC infrastructure management.
Frank’s career also includes a notable tenure at the CIA, where he spent over 15 years in leadership positions such as Technical Director of the Cyber Technology Office, Chief of Cyber Defense, and Deputy CISO. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Advisors at Praetorian.
This appointment reflects KPMG’s dedication to enhancing its cybersecurity leadership and safeguarding its global operations.
