GitLab (GTLB), one of the most comprehensive AI-powered enterprise DevSecOps platforms, has appointed Josh Lemos as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). As CISO, he will be responsible for directing the company’s global security strategy and compliance initiatives, strengthening the GitLab DevSecOps platform, and guaranteeing the highest level of security for its customers.

Lemos brings over 20 years of technology leadership experience and joins the company from Block (formerly known as Square), where he served as CISO. Prior to his time at Block, he served in key leadership roles at Cylance Inc., ServiceNow, Accuvant, and Ernst & Young. Lemos is passionate about problem-solving and is known for “championing, growing, and scaling world-class cybersecurity, data science, and production engineering teams,” according to his LinkedIn.

“GitLab has defined the DevSecOps category for the industry and I am excited to join the leadership team during a time of growth and technology advancement,” said Lemos. “AI is poised to have a transformative impact on the world, and as the most comprehensive AI-powered DevSecOps platform in the market, GitLab is leading the way with a privacy-first approach to integrating AI capabilities throughout the software development lifecycle increasing security at a greater development velocity. I look forward to helping GitLab advance its proactive information security strategy while fostering security innovations that provide immediate security benefits to the GitLab community.”
