General Motors (NYSE: GM) has announced the appointment of Barak Turovsky as its first-ever Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer.

Turovsky will lead GM’s AI strategy, overseeing the integration of artificial intelligence across the company’s vehicle technology, enterprise operations, and manufacturing processes. His efforts will support GM’s broader initiatives in electric vehicles, internal combustion engine advancements, and autonomous driving.
Most recently, Turovsky served as Vice President of AI at Cisco, where he spearheaded AI-driven initiatives. Prior to that, he led AI product development at Google, playing a key role in advancing natural language processing and machine learning applications.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Turovsky emphasized the transformative impact of AI on the automotive industry and his commitment to accelerating GM’s AI-driven innovation.
Dave Richardson, SVP of GM, praised Turovsky’s appointment, stating, “AI is central to GM’s EV, ICE, and autonomous future. With Barak’s deep expertise, we will accelerate AI-driven advancements that enhance products, optimize operations, and improve the customer experience.”
