Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) has appointed Conrad Band as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). Band, who has held the CIO role in an interim capacity since May 2021, will continue providing vision, strategy, and direction for information systems and technology for the enterprise.
Band has been with CHLA for six years. He joined as their Chief Information Security Officer in 2017 where he helped create an advanced security system using the latest technologies to protect the hospital’s patients and clinicians. During the height of COVID-19, he became CHLA’s interim CIO and supported the organization by creating remote work and expanding telehealth capabilities.
“Being named to the permanent Chief Information Officer role is a testament to Conrad’s contribution and leadership throughout his tenure at CHLA,” said Lara Khouri, MBA, MPH, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “Conrad is a forward-thinking technology champion and leader who works tirelessly to ensure effective, efficient and secure operation of CHLA’s information systems, without which we would be unable to further CHLA’s mission of creating hope and building healthier futures for our patients.”
