Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a strategic C-suite reshuffle with the appointment of Scott Strickland as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), a role newly established to propel the hotel giant’s tech-forward vision. Having served as Wyndham’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) for seven years, Strickland played a pivotal role in guiding the company’s substantial technology investments, amounting to $275 million. These investments were crucial in driving digital enhancements and improving services for franchisees.
This transition marks a pivotal step in Wyndham’s efforts to integrate technology with global sales, marketing, revenue generation, and the enhancement of the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program. Strickland brings a rich background in private equity, with prior leadership roles at D+M Holdings, Nissan, and Black & Decker where he led teams focused on information systems, e-commerce, and business transformation.
In his new capacity, Strickland is charged with advancing Wyndham’s technology and distribution strategy, a mission supported by the formation of a tech-forward commercial organization. This strategic move aims to synergize cross-functional leadership to deliver innovative technology and marketing solutions that benefit hotel owners and franchisees.
