Tech Time Travel: First Annual World Altair Computer Convention

March 27th, 1976 – On this day, college-age Bill Gates delivers the opening address at the first Annual World Altair Computer Convention. Gates co-developed the version of the BASIC language that was sold with the Altair computer with Paul Allen. The convention was an overwhelming success, with many attendees becoming leaders of the personal computer revolution.
