Meta has appointed Assaf Keren as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), succeeding Guy Rosen, who announced his retirement earlier this year after 13 years with the company. Keren will transition into the role over the coming months, working alongside Rosen before assuming responsibility for Meta’s global cybersecurity organization.
As CISO, Keren will lead Meta’s information security strategy, overseeing the company’s cybersecurity program and efforts to protect its systems, data, and technology infrastructure.
Keren joins Meta from Qualtrics, where he has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer since March 2024. Prior to Qualtrics, he spent nine years at PayPal, holding several senior security leadership positions, including Chief Information Security Officer.
“Building AI at the frontier means building the trust infrastructure for it at the same frontier, with the same seriousness, at a scale that touches billions of people,” Keren wrote in a LinkedIn post.
