Bank of America has named Hari Gopalkrishnan as its new Chief Technology and Information Officer, elevating a longtime technology leader to the bank’s top tech post. He succeeds Aditya Bhasin, who is stepping down after more than 20 years with the firm.
Gopalkrishnan, who joined Bank of America in 2011, most recently served as Head of Consumer, Business, and Wealth Management Technology. Over the past decade, he has led the development of next-generation digital platforms and client-facing technologies, helping advance the bank’s “high-tech, high-touch” strategy.
His work has been central to scaling mobile and digital capabilities across the enterprise.
Prior to Bank of America, Gopalkrishnan held senior technology roles at Citigroup and Lehman Brothers. In his new role, he joins the company’s executive management team and will lead enterprise-wide technology strategy, including the expansion of AI-based services and digital innovation.
CEO Brian Moynihan credited Gopalkrishnan’s leadership in AI and digital transformation, noting his close collaboration with senior executives and his role in driving client-centered technology solutions.
