Southern Company has named Hans Brown as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Technology Officer, effective July 31. In this role, Brown will lead the company’s enterprise-wide technology strategy, driving digital transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, engagement, and innovation across the organization.

Brown brings a distinguished global career in technology leadership, with expertise in digital innovation, platform operating models, and fintech investments. At BNY, he held pivotal roles including Executive Platform Owner for Loans Enablement, CIO for Issuer Services and Corporate Technology, and Global Head of Enterprise Innovation. He led the modernization of enterprise platforms and managed teams across 10 countries.
